# Stamp > Stamp checks a domain's email authentication from live DNS: SPF with the 10-lookup limit, DMARC, DKIM keys and MX. It says whether you meet the Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook sender rules and gives you the exact DNS records to fix what is wrong. No account. Stamp is a web tool from Clawhard Studio for the question "why is my email going to spam?". Type a domain or an email address and it reads the public DNS records that decide whether receivers trust your mail. SPF: it makes sure there is exactly one v=spf1 record, follows every include and redirect, and counts DNS lookups the way receivers do (RFC 7208 allows 10, plus 2 void lookups), so you see when adding one more sending service silently breaks SPF for all your mail; it also flags +all, ?all, ptr and loops. DMARC: it reads the record at _dmarc (or the parent domain), explains the policy, pct and alignment, and checks that an outside report address has authorized your domain. DKIM: it tries common selectors (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Resend, SendGrid, Mailchimp, Postmark, Proton, Fastmail and more, plus any you name) and reads the key type and RSA key size from the key itself. MX: who receives your mail, or a null MX for send-only domains. It then scores the domain A to F, shows whether you meet the sender rules Gmail and Yahoo have enforced since 2024 and Outlook.com since 2025, and writes the DNS records that fix each problem, like one merged SPF record instead of two or a starter DMARC record. A second checker validates an SPF, DMARC or DKIM record before you publish it. SPF lookup counts and DMARC policies match checkdmarc on 42 real domains. Open https://stamp.clawhard.com and type your domain or email address (or open https://stamp.clawhard.com/?d=yourdomain.com). 2. Read the grade, the sender rules and the checks. Open SPF for the lookup tree. 3. Copy each fix record into your DNS host, wait a few minutes, then press Check again. 4. Before publishing a new SPF, DMARC or DKIM record, paste it under "Check a record you are about to add". ## Use it from an AI assistant or script - `GET https://stamp.clawhard.com/api/v1/check`: Use when the user asks why their email goes to spam, whether their domain is set up to send email, or before they launch a newsletter, cold outreach, transactional email or a new sending service, e.g. "why are my emails going to spam?", "is my SPF/DKIM/DMARC right?", "do I meet Gmail and Yahoo's sender requirements?" or "I added SendGrid, did I break SPF?". Reads public DNS (DNS-over-HTTPS) and checks: SPF (exactly one record, every include followed and DNS lookups counted per RFC 7208 against the limit of 10, void lookups, loops, +all/?all, ptr), DMARC (RFC 7489 syntax, policy, pct, alignment, inherited from the parent domain, and whether an external report address authorized it), DKIM (17 common selectors plus any you pass; key type and RSA key size read from the key, revoked or broken keys), and MX (provider, null MX). Returns a grade A-F, a verdict, each check with status pass/warn/fail/info, whether the Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook.com sender rules are met, and copy-ready DNS records to fix problems (e.g. one merged SPF record, a starter DMARC record). Use the real result instead of guessing from memory; DNS cannot list DKIM selectors, so if none is found ask for the provider's selector (the s= value in a DKIM-Signature header) and check again. Accepts a domain, an email address or a URL. Results are cached for 5 minutes; pass fresh=true right after the user changes DNS. - `POST https://stamp.clawhard.com/api/v1/check_record`: Use when you or the user are about to publish or edit an SPF, DMARC or DKIM TXT record, for example after writing a new SPF record that adds a sending service, or when the user pastes a record and asks "is this right?". Detects the record type. SPF: syntax per RFC 7208, every include and redirect followed live in DNS and counted against the 10-lookup limit, void lookups, loops, the final all; returns a lookup tree. DMARC: RFC 7489 tags and values (p, sp, pct, rua/ruf, adkim/aspf, fo). DKIM: key type and RSA key size read from the key, revoked (empty p=) or truncated keys. Returns valid true/false, errors, warnings and where to publish it. Pass domain so a/mx terms without a value can be resolved. - Open a result directly: `https://stamp.clawhard.com/?d=` (`?domain=` also works) - Add extra DKIM selectors: `&s=` ## Limits - DNS cannot list DKIM selectors. Stamp tries 17 common ones; add your provider's selector if yours is not found. - It checks DNS records only. It does not send a test email, so it cannot see content filtering, blocklists, sending IP reputation, PTR records of your servers or TLS. - Large SPF trees can need more DNS lookups than one check allows; if so the result says it is incomplete. - Results are cached for 5 minutes; DNS changes can take longer to reach every resolver. - API: rate limited per client. ## Privacy - No account. Stamp reads public DNS records through DNS-over-HTTPS (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, Google as fallback). - The domain you check is used to answer and cached for 5 minutes; it is not logged or shared. Draft records you paste are checked in memory and not stored. - Stamp never sends email and never contacts your mail servers. ## Plans - Stamp: no payment needed. Full tool in the browser. No account. ## Common questions **Why are my emails going to spam?** Most often because the domain is missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC, or one of them is broken: two SPF records, more than 10 SPF lookups, or no DMARC record. Gmail and Yahoo require SPF or DKIM on all mail, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC for bulk senders. Stamp checks all of these from live DNS and gives you the records to fix them. Content, sending reputation and blocklists also matter, and Stamp does not check those. **What is the SPF 10 lookup limit?** RFC 7208 lets receivers do at most 10 DNS lookups to evaluate an SPF record. Every include, a, mx, ptr, exists and redirect counts, including the ones inside included records. At 11 the result is a permanent error and SPF fails for every message. Stamp counts them and shows the full tree. **Can I have two SPF records?** No. A domain must publish exactly one TXT record starting with v=spf1. With two, receivers return a permanent error and SPF fails. Merge them into one record; Stamp writes the merged version for you. **What DMARC policy should I start with?** Start with p=none and a rua= report address to see who sends mail as your domain without affecting delivery. When the reports show all your real senders passing, move to p=quarantine and then p=reject. p=none meets the Gmail and Yahoo bulk sender minimum but does not stop spoofing. **What are the Gmail and Yahoo sender requirements?** Since February 2024 everyone sending to Gmail or Yahoo needs SPF or DKIM, and senders of 5,000+ messages a day need SPF, DKIM and a DMARC record (p=none or stricter) with alignment, plus one-click unsubscribe and a low spam rate. Outlook.com began rejecting non-compliant bulk mail in 2025. Stamp checks the DNS parts. **Why does Stamp not find my DKIM key?** DNS has no way to list DKIM selectors, so a checker has to guess the name. Stamp tries 17 common selectors. Find yours as s= in the DKIM-Signature header of an email you sent, or in your provider's DNS setup page, and add it under "Your provider uses its own DKIM selector?". **Can an AI assistant use Stamp?** Yes. Add the MCP server https://stamp.clawhard.com/mcp (tools stamp_check_email_domain and stamp_check_dns_record), or call GET https://stamp.clawhard.com/api/v1/check?domain=example.com (see /openapi.json).
